ROBORIGGER
Rotate loads by radio and hold their position autonomously – up to 50 t, with no taglines.
The Roborigger is a radio-controlled load orientation system developed by our Australian partner Tensa Equipment and used on major projects worldwide by Multiplex, Rio Tinto, Acciona, Lendlease, John Holland and many others. It adds a solution to our product range that makes taglines unnecessary when positioning crane loads.
Combined with the Ludwig Hook, a single remote control lets you both orient and release a load – a fully radio-controlled lifting process with no personnel in the danger zone.
How does the Roborigger work?
The Roborigger hangs directly from the crane hook and rotates the load using inertial forces: a motor spins up a flywheel whose torque can be applied instantly in either direction. While the button is pressed, the unit rotates at roughly 10 degrees per second. Once released, the Roborigger autonomously holds the last set position — regardless of wind or other external forces.
An onboard load cell shows the weight directly on the remote control, logs every lift and flags overload events automatically. Every lift is pushed via Wi-Fi and 3G/4G to the Roborigger IoT platform, complete with timestamp, location, weight and a high-resolution image.
