Ideas born on the job
Ludwig System grew out of a very concrete problem in forestry: our founder and namesake, Ludwig Giritzer, needed a way to release chokers during cable-crane work without leaving the cabin. That challenge became our first product, the LudwigChoker, in 2008.
The same principle still holds today: our customers' real-world challenges are the starting point for every new solution we build.
A family business
We've been engineering lifting technology in Bad Reichenhall since 2008 — 100% family-owned. Design, manufacturing, service, repair and spare parts all stay in-house. The most important components are made together with our sister company BMK, right on site.
For our customers, that means short lines of communication, direct contacts, and responsibility that extends far beyond the sale.

Many of our solutions are patented innovations. Every product is tested for compliance with the relevant standards by TÜV SÜD — and we often go beyond the minimum requirements.
Our vision
We want to make fully autonomous lifting possible. That means automating every step: detecting the load, positioning the hook over the attachment point, attaching it automatically, lifting, placing it precisely, and releasing it again. We're working through this, step by step.
Thinking long-term.
We look after our products for the long haul. Scheduled inspections keep them fit for service, and where something does fail, we repair rather than replace as a matter of principle. End-of-life products are taken back and recycled as fully as possible.
A significant share of our energy comes from our own photovoltaic system. Long-term thinking shapes how we engineer, manufacture and partner — and the same standards apply to the suppliers and distributors we work with. Across planning, production and training, our reliability and safety benchmarks comfortably exceed what the standards require. Good for our customers, and good for the environment.
